Every 15 minutes of every day of the year Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) purchases electricity at different prices for the four ERCOT designated zones in the State of Texas. These prices are called the Market Clearing Price for Energy (MCPE). These historical prices are posted on the ERCOT website at:

You can track the real time daily ERCOT MCPE zonal energy costs by visiting the following ERCOT website. You will note that the prices on this website are in dollars per Megawatt hour. To convert the price to cents per kWh simply divide the dollar amount by 1000.
